My Wiki

I see how the Wiki could be a great teaching and learning tool. If I were to give this to my students I think they might have some fun with it. My Wiki has only been posted for a short time and I have sent invitations to some friends, Dr. S, and some classmates. I have yet to see anyone edit it. I wish there were a way to get the Wiki out to more people.

I thought the process of creating the Wiki was fun. It was a bit confusing at first but WetPaint, the wiki site I used, was very easy to navigate and use to build the site. It actually gave you a completion percentage for all of the steps needed to complete the Wiki. I'm glad that their are sites to help buold the Wikis. I checked a few out before using them and I think that WetPaint was very user friendly.

I hope that more people come and edit my wiki biologybazaar.wetpaint.com. Have fun!!!

Second Class May 28

Today we learned about how the kids from today learn very different. Technology is such a big part of their lifes that we as teachers need to incorporate it in order for these group of students that form part of generation "M" can learn. Our goal as educators should be for this students that are able to multitask and have an specific goal, to make then succeed and be the best they can be incorporating technology.

learning is: a community based experience in which all learners of the community interact as memebers of a learning society and whereby the teacher acts as the guide. These students will learn how to learn through the gudiance of their teacher, but also through the guidance of their peers. Basically, there is a community of learners and the teacher is their guide.

Be gentle its my first time blogging-May 21,2007

So today was the first day of class, and like Dr. S said it was a practice class. We talked about how important it is to follow the rules of netiquete and I actually found it pretty interesting. One never realizes how hard it can be to have a class on the internet in which you have to interact with all the people in the class. There wasn't much to learn the first day, but more to get use to and see how it works. I'll be writting soon with more of the things that I learned from the class.
